Therapy for Teens

Supporting Teens, Empowering Growth

“One in five adolescents have a diagnosable mental health disorder.”

Today's teenagers are navigating an unprecedented era shaped by the digital age. Constant connectivity has transformed the adolescent experience, offering new avenues for connection while introducing unique challenges such as issues with self-esteem, body image concerns, cyberbullying, and privacy. Social media often amplifies unrealistic beauty standards, contributing to struggles with eating disorders and negative self-perception. Additionally, the pressures of academic achievement and societal expectations to plan for the future contribute to increased levels of stress, anxiety, and depression among teens.

Why Therapy Can Be Beneficial For Teens

Adolescence is a time of significant change and growth, both emotionally and physically. While parental support is invaluable, teens may sometimes benefit from having a neutral, understanding professional to confide in. Bloom Body & Healing can provide a safe space for your teen to explore their emotions, understand their behavior, and develop healthier ways to navigate life’s challenges.

Through therapy, teens can:

  • Gain insight into their emotions and learn to express themselves in a healthy way.

  • Develop effective strategies to handle emotions productively.

  • Resolve family and peer conflicts.

  • Boost self-esteem, self-awareness, and overall confidence.

  • Identify goals, create actionable plans, and improve problem-solving skills.

  • Learn healthier coping strategies for managing stress.

  • Build a stronger sense of identity and feel more secure in who they are.

Therapy empowers teens to grow, thrive, and build the tools they need for a healthier, more confident future.

Eating Disorders Among Teens

Eating disorders, such as anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, and avoidant restrictive food intake disorder (also known as ARFID), often develop during adolescence and young adulthood. These disorders involve abnormal eating behaviors and an intense preoccupation with food, often accompanied by concerns about body weight and shape. Eating disorders not only impact physical health but are also frequently associated with co-occurring conditions such as depression, anxiety, and substance use disorders.
